College Admissions Essay Writing
The college application process should belong to the student. Families and companies that complete this process for the student are robbing the applicant of their first chance to define and guide their future. Having said that, American education has created a frenzy around college competition and the perfect resume being included in the perfect application is what our children believe that they must produce to be competitive.
Given the stress that is currently a part of the college admission process, many students ask for support but that help should be assisting them in finding their voice, not creating it for them. As we consider learned independence being an integral part of college success, the application process is the perfect starting point to move from several people supporting the perfect resume to the student being coached to create their perfect narrative.
The Essig Education Group offers two essay writing programs:
Our comprehensive College Essay Writing program lasts 7 weeks and includes 7 Zoom sessions (a total of 8 hours of Zoom coaching) that support the student through the writing and edit process. In addition to the writing sessions, this program offers edit notes sent before sessions 2 through 7 that allow the student to remain on a solid writing path. This option is for the student who is a resistant writer, an anxious writer, or has never had to write a personal narrative and does not understand the elements that go into their focus of storytelling.
Our second option is our College Essay Writing Bootcamp which includes a 2 hour introduction to the art of the personal narrative with an outline of the student’s writing topic followed by an edit of their final draft about one month later. This option is for the confident writer who realizes that schools do not generally teach or focus on personal narrative writing, but they know that with a roadmap of what should be included, they can write a compelling admissions essay.
Our Writing Specialists are both television producers. Jenny is a two time Emmy contributing story producer, and Alex is both a producer and a published author. They will assist students in finding their voice and crafting essays that speak to who they genuinely are. They won’t write the essay for the student, but they will work with that student to guarantee that the student has told the most compelling story about themself.
